I can honestly say that no other job I have had in my life prepared me for the wave of emotions that I would ride while running my own business. From the highs of getting new customers and making a difference in my clients' lives to the lows of worrying about where my next client was coming from.
All these emotions can be felt in a very short space of time – you could even go through all these emotions in just one day! While these emotions are entirely normal, they can be incredibly frustrating.
What I Learned
What I have learned is that if you give in to these emotions, they have the power to throw you off your vision and leave you feeling stuck in your business.
It is hard to anticipate how many challenges you must face while running your own business. These challenges can often be overwhelming.
However, not acknowledging and meeting these challenges can be even more complicated.
Instead of taking action, you can slip into a vicious cycle of denial, blame and start to hide from reality.

Whether you like it or not, in every situation you face, you have a choice.
You can choose to take action, or you can choose to hide. I chose to take action in my own business. After trying the hard way, I realised I could not do this alone.
I had to get outside help. I needed a mentor to support me and keep me on the right track.It was through this support that I developed the skills that empowered me in my own business.
Yes, I still did and do experience these waves of emotions, but I know how to move through these emotions and move up the scale
